Buckets of experience & knowledge!

Hevey are delighted to announce the strengthening of the sales team to help the company compete in tough trading conditions but also to provide our customers with a wealth of experience and knowledge when they need advice on products best suited to their building projects.
The team is headed up by Mick McGuckin, Sales Director who is now supported by three well known characters who have a combined industry experience of over 90 years!
Andy Peebles is the new Business Development Manager and recently joined Hevey in August 2009. Working in the Peterborough area, Andy is a very experienced and award winning manager having worked in the merchant sector for over 30 years. On joining Hevey, Andy said “I already knew the Directors from our days at Greenhow & Welch, so when the opportunity came up to join such a proactive independent company I jumped at the chance. I am looking forward to the challenges ahead and know that I will be able to provide full support and a flexible service to our customers”. In his spare time Andy has been a Cox for a rowing club so is keen to push a team effort at Hevey!
George “Gorgeous” Johnson works out of the Timber Depots at both Northampton and Kettering. “Through years of experience as a carpenter I am able to call upon bags of knowledge and expertise so I can help our customers order the correct amount of timber for their projects.” Many people in the industry will know George from his days at Bonham Lilley Timber. Outside of work George has been known to be a bit of an Archer so if you need your project to be on target, be sure to give him a call for your timber!
Completing the team is Alan Trusler who has been with Hevey since 2005. As Business Development Manager in the Civil Engineering sector Alan is excited about his new colleagues joining Hevey as he believes that Hevey can now provide a full sales service to the construction industry within 50 miles of Northampton. On his role in the team Alan said “I am keen to work with companies who need a safe pair of hands when looking for a builder’s merchant. I am out visiting customers 90% of my time which gives me a good understanding of what our customers need and I enjoy helping customers to make the most effective purchasing decisions possible”. Alan is well known for his enthusiasm and commitment to local football from his days as Vice Chairman of Rothwell Town Football Club.
Commenting on the strengthening of the Sales Team, Mick McGuckin, Sales Director said “We are committed to providing our customers with the right products at the right time for their building supplies and with Andy, Alan and George in place we now have a huge amount of experience and knowledge in our business. The contacts that the team have in the industry will help us enormously going forward”.
